ROBB HUHN
Robb Huhn has been a lifelong canine enthusiast and advocate, with a history of owning and loving a wide range of breeds including Chow Chows, Shar Pei, Jack Russell Terriers, Siberian Huskies, and mixed-breed companions. His journey in dogs has always been rooted in appreciation for structure, temperament, and the unique bond between human and animal.
Among his most meaningful companions is Sheldon — a white Bichon Frise and Australian Shepherd mix Robb found on the side of the road outside of St. Louis nearly 15 years ago. Sheldon remains very much part of the family today, a reminder that great dogs come from both preservation breeding and unexpected rescues.
Robb began exhibiting dogs in 2022, entering the sport with Basenjis before expanding into the Alaskan Klee Kai. Though still early in his show career, he has handled numerous AKC Champions and Grand Champions in both breeds. He successfully owner-handled his own Basenji, “Ginger,” to an AKC Championship — a milestone achievement that reflects his commitment to learning proper presentation, conditioning, and ring strategy.
Beyond exhibiting, Robb is actively involved in the sport in multiple capacities. He serves as a Huntmaster for FastCAT events and has chaired specialty shows for the Basenji Club of Northern New Jersey and the German Spitz Club of America. He also manages much of the social media presence for Bellator Kennels, helping to showcase the dogs, educate the public, and promote responsible breeding practices.
Many in the dog community may recognize Robb by his online moniker, “Dog Show Daddy.” When not actively in the ring, he frequently livestreams dog show events, offering a humorous and engaging perspective while bringing the experience home to exhibitors, fans, and families who may not be able to attend in person.
While continuing to grow as an exhibitor and handler, Robb approaches the sport with humility, discipline, and respect for preservation breeding and responsible stewardship.
Beyond the show ring, Robb is a veteran with over 32 years of service in the Armed Forces. He serves as a Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Department at a local hospital and teaches nursing students, bringing the same focus, integrity, and mentorship to his professional life that he applies to his involvement in purebred dogs.
At Bellator Kennels, Robb supports a program built on preservation, ethical breeding practices, health transparency, and lifelong commitment to the dogs produced.
